Notarized translations online: what they are and how they work

A notarized translation is a certified translation — produced and stamped by a translator authorized by the Ministry of Justice — whose signature is then legalized by a public notary.

The notary does not check the content of the translation; they confirm the translator’s identity and authorization and apply the notarial certification. This gives the document an extra layer of official validity before institutions: courts, city halls, embassies, universities, employers or foreign authorities.

Unlike a simple certified translation, a notarized translation adds this notarial step. Some institutions — especially embassies and foreign authorities — explicitly require notarization, without which documents are not accepted.
